The International Finance Corporation, part of the World Bank Group, will invest up to US$15 million in the Caribbean Community Resilience Fund’s debt sub-fund. The fund is managed by Jamaican firm Sygnus with the CARICOM Development Fund, and it lends to medium-sized businesses in 13 Caribbean countries, including Guyana. The money goes toward business expansion, renewable energy, climate adaptation, infrastructure, and working capital.

**Why it matters for North American firms:** Guyanese companies that want to grow now have another source of long-term financing. That means more local businesses able to sign supply deals, joint ventures, and partnerships with North American firms in energy, infrastructure, and climate projects.
